In today’s world of fast paced, hustle and bustle, quick-fix thinking, it’s important to realize that not everything, in fact, not much of anything is a quick-fix.  Growing up healthy is something that we all want for our children.  Taking healthy steps along the way will help ensure that process is successful, with one of those steps being Raising Healthy Children With Chiropractic Care Raising Healthy Children With Chiropractic Carechiropractic care.

Do you remember the phrase “Garbage in, garbage out”?  When you consider that we are what we eat, that phrase becomes very important when raising healthy children.  Our children need nourishing food.  When our children receive proper nutrition, they will be able to perform better in school.  A healthy breakfast, snack and lunch will help them concentrate, focus and learn the way they are designed.  Fast food restaurants are designed to provide food fast, not necessarily nutritious.  Fast foods are typically high in fat and cholesterol, including trans-fats.  Our bodies do not have the ability to break down those types of fats.

Fibromyalgia is a non-life threatening disorder of the muscles. It’s main symptoms include muscle pain, tender points throughout the body, fatigue and sleep disorders. Many people describe living with fibromyalgia in similar ways as living with the flu.

Experts estimate that anywhere from 3 to 6 million Americans are currently living with fibromyalgia, with over 80 percent being women. A woman will typically be diagnosed with fibromyalgia between the ages of 20 and 50, and may also have a contributing factor of lupus, rheumatic disease, or Sjogren’s syndrome.

While the exact cause of fibromyalgia is still undetermined, experts have listed possible causes or triggers as inadequate sleep, physical or emotional injury or trauma, bacterial or viral infection, or abnormal production of pain-related chemicals in the brain and nerves.

Chiropractic care focuses on maintaining wellness. Instead or popping a pill or having surgery, there may be other solutions. Chiropractic care focuses on getting to the root of the problem – it bypasses the western ideology of using medicine to cover up symptoms, and instead helps you get to the cause of the problem and return to a healthy living style.

[Ready to try a new way at approaching wellness? As a leading chiropractic care office in Centennial, Dr Jason Watts looks forward to getting to know you, and work with you to achieve all of your health related goals and needs.]

The world of medicine is changing. One out of three Americans are currently using some form of alternative medicine. One in ten are under a chiropractors care. Over 75 percent are currently seeking other alternatives over our traditional western medicine. And one third of all medical schools are now offering coursework in alternative medicine.

Everyone has a story about someone they know who had an adverse drug reaction, was given the wrong drug, or had a surgical mishap. One kid who went to see his allergy doctor a few weeks ago was given somebody else’s allergy shots by mistake. He had a horrible reaction. He’s lucky he didn’t become a statistic.iStock 000010731573XSmall 300x199 Do You Need To Be Sick To Seek Chiropractic Care?

People everywhere are becoming aware of these horrible realities and choosing to go elsewhere. The medical industry must clean itself up because it has become obvious that the federal government is not going to step in. Unfortunately, with managed care, the quality of care continues to get worse every day.

What if your child was going into the hospital for a major procedure? You would be more concerned about them being in the hospital than you would be about their condition.

How many hours of the day do you find yourself sitting at your desk? Sitting in one place staring at a screen all day can definitely add stress and tension to your body, and make you feel tired by the end of the day.  iStock 000004142244XSmall 197x300 How To Relieve Stress At Your Desk

Instead of letting the tension build, why not give yourself a mini-vacation?

1. Breathe deeply.
One of the best ways to relax and feel the tension slip away is by breathing deeply. Use this a couple of times per day, or whenever you are feeling particularly stressed. Close your eyes and concentrate on your breathing. Breathe in and out slowly 10 times, focusing on your breath and relaxing. Slowly open your eyes, and enjoy feeling more centered, and a lot calmer.

2. Stretch out your neck.
There is a right and wrong way to stretch the muscles in your neck. Think of a plus sign. Slowly move your head forwards and back, touching your chin down to your chest, and lifting your chin towards the sky. Then slowly turn your head, looking over your left shoulder, and turn again to look over your right shoulder.

3. Take a meditation break.
After you’ve practiced your breathing and stretching, why not continue with a five-minute break and meditate? Take advantage of your relaxed state, and focus inward. Continue to let the tension in the rest of your body dissolve, and remain calm and relaxed.

Not only can a few minutes a day help you become healthier, and live a life with less stress, it can also help you achieve more at work. A few minutes relaxing can help you be more focused on particular points of your job, and help you define answers in a new way. You’ll be surprised at how much quicker an answer may come to you after a few minutes away from your desk.
