How to Treat Carpal Tunnel with Chiropractic How to Treat Carpal Tunnel with Chiropractic

In this age of computers, more and more workers are working with their hands. If you are in an office, you are probably at work at a computer eight hours a day, five days a week.  Even if you are out in the field, you still are using smart phones, laptops and tablets for everything from sales and invoicing, to research and maintenance. Computers are now a part of virtually all of our lives, and there is no way to avoid it.

With this constant barrage of hand work, is it any wonder that 60% of work related injuries fall within the Carpal Tunnel category?  Carpal Tunnel can be extremely painful and detrimental to work and normal life.  So is there a way to treat the problem aside from the typical wrist supports and Aspirin?

Thankfully, chiropractors are highly capable of helping patients experience relief from Carpal Tunnel Syndrome and Carpal Tunnel Symptoms.  Additionally, a chiropractor will be uniquely qualified to determine the difference.

Carpal Tunnel Syndrome is a well known problem leading to numbness and pain in the arm and hand, weakness of the wrist, etc.  However, people can experience these symptoms without having the Syndrome.  This is known as Carpal Tunnel Symptoms.  While Carpal Tunnel Syndrome is caused by pinching of the median nerve in the wrist, a similar pinching of the nerve at its base in the neck can cause the same symptoms.  The location of the pinch determines the diagnosis of the problem.

This is why a chiropractor can be so helpful to someone experiencing these symptoms.  Chiropractors are well versed in the intricacies of the structural systems of the body including the skeletal and nervous system.  A chiropractor can not only help locate the source of the problem, but then also help make adjustments to help relieve the problem.

Consulting a chiropractor early on can have several benefits.  Early detection and treatment lead to a shorter healing time and more rapid relief.  Also, consulting a chiropractor can avoid costly and painful surgery in an attempt to correct the issue without the chiropractor.
